Religious Quotes : Wrath

A true disciple is free from all passion, including wrath. To give way to wrath is to bind oneself to a master who will destroy. Happiness lies in freedom from wrath.
BUDDHISM

Everyone should beware of wrath. Do not become
angry without cause. Love, and not anger, is the
mark of a true Christian. Put away all wrath and
malice and seek to dwell in friendliness with all men.
CHRISTIANITY

Do not deal with your fellow beings as though
you were superior to them. Those who do will find
themselves hated. To avoid the wrath of others,
demand little of them and much of yourself.

give him some instruction and he said: "Do not be
angry." The man repeated that several times and
he replied: "Do not be angry."

Wrath is a passion which defiles the soul. The
wise man will avoid wrath lest he be caught in the
toils of the passion as a fly is caught in glue. Even
though he is beaten, the religionist will not give way to wrath.
JAINISM

The wise man is slow to wrath. He gives soft
answers and thereby turns away wrath on the
part of others. Love, and not wrath, should be the
goal of all true believers, for wrath leads to strife.
JUDAISM

Wrath is the cup, filled with worldly love, and pride
is the server. Through excessive drinking in the
company of falsehood and avarice, the
mortal is ruined.
SIKHISM

Return goodness for hatred. Do not become angry
and do not quarrel with your fellow beings. The
wise man is free from wrath at all times.
TAOISM

If a man exercises his anger and wrath against the blood-thirsty tyrants who are like ferocious beasts, it is very praiseworthy; but if he does not use these qualities in a right way, they are blameworthy.
